After Twenty Years in the Newsroom, Nidhi Vasandani Steps into Independent Journalism
After two decades as a prominent TV news anchor and deputy editor, Nidhi Vasandani has resigned from TV9 Bharatvarsh to pursue long-form podcasts focusing on faith, personal growth, and inspiring life stories.
From anchoring prime-time bulletins to covering elections, moderating high-stakes debates, and reporting on stories that shaped India’s news cycle, Nidhi Vasandani has spent nearly 20 years in some of India’s most prominent newsrooms. However, in March 2026, she chose to step away from mainstream television to build an independent platform of her own. She shared that it was less about leaving something behind and more about moving towards the next phase of her journey.
She said, "I had enough media experience, so I thought of starting on my own, and content creation and anchoring were a natural progression."
After completing her studies, her professional career started in 2006 with Sahara Samay News in Noida. In 2009, she joined Zee News and later moved to Zee Business in 2011. Until 2014 she had worked on political coverage, business journalism, hard news, and television debates at Zee Network. In 2014, she joined ABP News, where she worked on major political stories, national issues, and in-depth explainers till 2019. Later the same year, she became a part of Republic Media Network, where she continued anchoring and reporting till 2022. She then moved to TV9 Bharatvarsh, where she worked across television and digital platforms. After completing nearly 20 years in mainstream television journalism, in March 2026, she moved to the independent digital space and started her own platform.
On her platform, she focuses on podcasts, meaningful conversations, and news explainers to create content around politics, society, media narratives, and current affairs. Her aim is to keep conversations simple, meaningful, and connected with the audience. Her independent platform reflects the breadth of her interests. She said, "Besides podcasts, I do daily content on newsy topics and trending news, and motivational speaking is also my USP. For my show I am interviewing a variety of celebrities, from actors and politicians to spiritual gurus."
Her goal is to build a space that brings together voices from different walks of life and offers a wide range of content to her audience. "I want to have people from all walks of life in my show and give a wide variety of content to my audience. I am based in Delhi but keep traveling to Mumbai as per the requirement,” Nidhi ended.
